The Library
The Institute has got a significant specialist library for ecumenics
It contains at present almost 150.000 works, some 200 current journals and a substantial stock of dictionaries.Our main stock consists of works written by theologians from various denominational backgrounds on ecumenism, denomiantions and theology in general. The library also contains collections of sermons, hymns and prayer books as well as liturgical agendas and works on ecclesiastical jurisprudence. You can also find theological standard works and specialist literature from all theological disciplines.
There is an extensive collection of Lutheran, Reformed and Anglican Theology, the theology of Free Chruches, LibraryEastern Churches and special ecclesiastical communities, but there are also works on nonchristian religions.
Besides that there all of the major publications of the World Council of Churches, the worldwide Christian Communions and the Conference of European Churches etc. available.
You can search for author, title and subject on user-terminals which allow you to enter into other libraries as well.
The library is a reference library. Therefore the institute offers the possibility of staying at the institute for a longer period of time. Many theologians from all over the world have already mady use of this.
